The holy month of Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the month during which the Holy Quran was revealed as guidance for all mankind for the very first time. Ramadan is about sacrifice, patience and discipline. There are countless ahadith attesting its significance.
Every year Ramadan graces us with its presence. During this month Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset and abstain from eating, drinking or sinful or inappropriate activities. It teaches us self-discipline and control whilst rewarding us with taqwa and enlightenment through obedience to Allah (SWT).

A Perfect Opportunity to Donate to Charity
This is a key time for the Muslim Ummah to demonstrate unity and come to the aid of those who need assistance. There are millions of people around the world in dire need of some of life’s most basic necessities such as food, water, clothing and shelter. As citizens of humanity, it is our moral responsibility to come to their aid and assistance.
As part of our relief aid operation, Islamic Help is distributing food packs (usually one month's ration per family of five) and iftar meals throughout the holy month of Ramadan. We are aiming to provide as much support as possible to the distraught families suffering as a result of the ongoing conflicts in Iraq and Syria, along with the Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar (Burma) - described by the United Nations as one of the world's most persecuted minorities.
With your continuous support, we will be ensuring that those deprived and struggling in the poverty-stricken areas of Tanzania, Pakistan and Bangladesh will have enough to sustain their families through this blessed month. We will also be distributing food packs for some of the poorest people in the world, including the refugees of the Central African Republic and Cameroon, Ethiopia and Somalia, as well as many others.
