A United Community

Take a minute to think about charitable giving – what is the first thing that comes to mind? The chances are that you will now be thinking about sending care packages to vulnerable children and families in some of the world’s poorest areas, right? While it’s true that this kind of work is a big part of what we do, it is also important to care for the people in need in our own communities. After all, charity begins at home.

Muslim charitiessuch as Islamic Help are fully committed to doing all that we can to provide vital support and assistance to the people who need it most, wherever in the world they are located. We place great significance in doing all that we can for anyone who needs our help – after all, as global citizens, this is our duty.

Charity Begins at Home

Being in a position to be able to help others is an incredibly fortunate feeling, one that we should make use of accordingly. Helping those less fortunate than ourselves is what we do best – and it is one of the most rewarding feelings possible. We would like to invite you to experience the positivity and gratitude that comes from this generosity first-hand, as you do your bit to help us help those who are most in need.

The first Saturday of May, which this year falls on May 6, marks Join Hands Day. This occasion was set up to encourage greater union, equality, and understanding between the different members of our community – both young and old. Each different part of the community is vital to the whole and accordingly, each should be respected and appreciated for the unique set of traits that they bring.

Celebrating Join Hands Day

Muslim charitieswork with every faction of the community to encourage this ideal union between the older and younger generations. Join Hands Day brings the different groups together to help them see how they can support one another. When done right, this communication can start a lasting dialogue guaranteed to continue for many more years to come, providing benefits for future generations as well as our own.

A united community is a stronger community; together we can support one another and work towards creating a brighter future for one and all.
