The Greatest Ummah
Allah ﷻ mentions that this Ummah (community) i.e. the followers of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are the best among mankind. They are connected by one religion ‘ISLAM’ and the believers give rights to one other to form a just community (ummatan wasataa). We will explore why this Ummah was praised above others, taking into considerations the communal rights and duties an individual believer has to be part of a community; and how to develop to become a better person as part of a collective.
A brief outline of topics covered:
• The chosen generation(s) as mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah
• The Importance of being an Ummah
• What is the Islamic community spirit?
• The importance of the family unit
• Self-development plan to contribute positively within a community
The Teacher
Shaykh Dr. Abu Ibrahim has a PhD in law, specialising in Islamic Family Law. He also has a Masters in Islamic studies and has completed his Alim course. He has written academic papers published by both Cambridge and Oxford University. The Shaykh is an Imam and Khateeb and delivers Islamic lectures throughout the UK. He regularly works with Muslim charities, community organisations, and educational institutions including Islamic Societies (ISocs).
