Support the Vulnerable
An explosion in warehouses storing 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate ripped through Beirut’s port on 4th August 2020. More than 150 people died, 5,000 were injured and 300,000 left homeless. With the economy already in dire straits and people struggling in the coronavirus pandemic, the disaster has led to a new humanitarian crisis. With your support, Islamic Help aims to assist the most vulnerable by providing desperately-needed food, water and PPE.
Their Time of Need
The damage to Beirut’s port from the explosion disrupted food imports and supplies at a time when the country’s economy is already on its knees. The health system was also severely affected with at least three hospitals put out of action. By providing emergency aid, you will be supporting those most in need. They include the most vulnerable – the homeless, those whose homes were severely damaged in the blast and families unable to access basic necessities.

Hope and Resilience
Working with a registered partner in Lebanon, we will use your donations to distribute emergency packs to vulnerable families in Beirut. The packs are designed to last a family of 3-4 people for up to 10 days. They contain food, water and PPE (gloves and masks) to protect beneficiaries from COVID-19 and the toxic gases released in the explosion. Your support will have a real impact on families not only by providing emergency aid, but by giving them hope.
