Save Lives

Pakistan
Emergency

Between the evening of May 6 and the morning of May 7, 2025, a series of high-impact explosions affected multiple districts in eastern Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The events led to a significant number of civilian casualties, displacement, and damage to public infrastructure.

Our values in action

Life changing support.

31 people were killed as a result of the attack. Among the victims were women and at least 10 children. More than 46 people were injured, many of them in critical condition with shrapnel wounds and trauma from collapsed buildings. Around 120 families were forced to leave their homes due to destruction or structural risk.
Over 40 residential homes were damaged, with several completely destroyed. One rural medical clinic and one school are no longer operational after being hit by debris. Three mosques were damaged, including one that partially collapsed. Water supply and electricity have been disrupted in some affected areas.

Immediate needs:

  • Emergency Medical Care:

Many local hospitals are under-equipped to handle blast-related trauma. Surgical supplies and mobile trauma teams are urgently needed.

  • Temporary Shelter & Warm Meals:

Families displaced in Kotli and Muzaffarabad are currently housed in makeshift tents with limited sanitation access.

  • Water & Sanitation Kits:

Disruptions to piped water in Muridke and Bahawalpur.

  • Mental Health Support:

Adults and children report high stress, insomnia, and disorientation. Psychosocial support must be integrated into response efforts.

In the early hours of May 6th 2025, a series of powerful explosions struck communities across eastern Pakistan and parts of Azad Kashmir. Entire neighbourhoods were devastated. Families were pulled from rubble. Places of worship and clinics were left in ruins.

31 people were killed, including women and at least 10 children. Over 46 others were injured, many suffering from life-threatening wounds. More than 120 families were forced from their homes, losing everything in a matter of minutes.

Emergency support is urgently needed in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sialkot, Kotli and Muzaffarabad — the areas most affected. Medical supplies are running low. Local hospitals are struggling to cope. Families are living in makeshift shelters, without access to clean water.
