Ramadan Food Packs for Refugees

"Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others." - Plato

"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." - Edmund Burke

*EDIT* With your help we have now reached our initial target and have now upped this to arrange an extra delivery of food packs to help even more families!*

We are currently in Jordan delivering medical aid to refugees. The things we have seen here and the conditions they are living in are simply harrowing. We could never imagine people within our communities living in such conditions.

Whilst we are here we want to do a little more and provide SIMPLE BASIC FOOD packs to the Refugees to provide families with sustenance during the month of Ramadan.

Every year during the blessed month of Ramadan, Islamic Help provides Food Packs to the poor in the most vulnerable and effected regions of the world. The food packs are specially designed and focused to provide for the fundamental nutritional needs of the beneficiary and to reach as many people as possible.

The beneficiaries are selected in categories of vulnerable groups. These groups are physically disabled persons, widows, female headed families, orphans and families living under the poverty line.

Each pack consists of staple food items such as the following and would provide enough food for approx three families (up to fifteen people) during the entire month.

Rice (30 KG)
Sugar (9 KG)
Wheat/Flour (15 KG)
Vegetable Oil (15 L)
Lentils (9 KG)
Beans (6 KG)
Skimmed Milk (3 L)
Spices (1.5 KG)
Dates (3 KG)

Each pack costs £150 and you can donate towards the entire cost or a part of the cost of a pack or get together with friends and family to raise money for a pack. Even if you are able to donate but a little please do not hesitate to do so.
