Sahara Desert Trek
In April I will be trekking the Sahara Desert. The reason I am embarking on this challenge is to raise money for Islamic Help's Eco-Village. The Eco-Village is a project which supports young orphan girls in Tanzania.
The Eco-Village is completely self sustainable, which means that the children and residents will be able to maintain their living without outside aid. By giving these orphan girls the ability to be completely self-sufficient, Islamic Help provides the most vulnerable demographic in Tanzania the chance to flourish.
Allah (SWT) says in the Noble Qur'an: "By no means shall you attain to righteousness until you spend (benevolently) out of what you love; and whatever thing you spend, Allah surely knows it." (3:92)
Sahl ibn Sa’d reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together to illustrate.
