Birth Campaign for Syrian Refugees
My name is Isra, I'm 15 years old, and I am currently raising money for a wonderful cause called "Birth Campaign" for Syrian refugees. This project is very dear to my heart and I have raised money on many occasions for it whether it has been alone or with family and friends, and Alhumdulilah I have always managed to exceed my targets. This reminds me of the beautiful Hadith in which Allah so rightly says "Take one step towards Me (Allah), and I will take ten steps towards you. Walk towards Me and I will run towards you" (Hadith Qudsi).
I recently attended a charity event organised by Islamic Help called 'Birth of a Hero' in which they were raising money for this same campaign. I was once again reminded of the importance of this project after watching videos of Syrian Mothers welcoming their new-born babies into a safe environment, due to the money that we raise.
As I am sure you all are aware of the struggles and hardships that Syrian families are facing this winter as refugees, with a lack of water, food, and shelter. These families have to leave war-torn countries and arrive as refugees at the outskirts of Syria were they are trying to rebuild their shattered lives and the arrival of a new-born which should be a time for joy and happiness becomes a cause for concern and tears.
With little or no financial support and lack of medical facilities, the birth of a child not only places additional burdens on a family but brings with it the risk of endangering the baby's life and that of the mother. Even for those who are in refugee camps set up by international aid agencies, governments, or fortunate to be taken to the hospital, the lack of financial help places further stress on them.
Through helping the Birth Campaign, Islamic Help will be able to help expecting mothers by covering the cost of their deliveries, admissions into hospitals and provide them with the basic equipment that they need such as beds, medicine, aftercare, sanitary towels, baby clothes, food and more. All these essentials which some of us may take for granted, and which we are blessed with, these mothers are struggling to find.
With your help and support, I would like to raise £600 which covers the cost of birth (baby delivery) and family aftercare. Please help by donating as much as you, as our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "None of you will have faith until he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he wishes for himself". (Bukhari)
Thank you for your help,
