The Central African Republic (CAR) is in the grips of a humanitarian crisis of catastrophic proportions. Ethno-religious violence and political instability have left the country's 4.6 million population vulnerable and more than 2 million of its people in need of humanitarian aid.The United Nations estimates that about 440,000 have been internally displaced and over 420,000 people have fled to neighbouring countries.
The conflict in the Central African Republic is in danger of becoming the world's 'forgotten crisis'. Islamic Help is leading an international coalition of charities and organisations to support those caught in the crisis and have set up a refugee camp in Cameroon and is building another inside CAR.
