In Memory of Haris Ali

Assalamu Alaikum (Peace be upon you)

This page is dedicated to Haris Ali a loving son, brother, and a good friend to many. Haris sadly passed away in a car accident on the 25th October 2015, during the month of Muharram

Haris had passion for cars and mechanics; he was studying Mechanical Engineering at Northampton Booth Lane College, and ready to start an apprenticeship program.

It is not often you come across a young man who is so sincere in all his actions, and has the ability to touch so many hearts. Haris was a kind hearted, 19 year old that was known by many for his thoughtfulness, he had a lot of love for his community and its people. He was always willing to put others before himself, always the first person to help someone in their time of need.

Haris always had a cheeky smile to his face, and had a lot of love to give to give to the people around him.

When a man passes away, his good deeds will also come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)"  - Narrated by Abu Hurairah, Sahih Muslim.

“Whosoever digs a well will receive reward for that from Allah on the Day of Judgement when anyone amongst jinn, men and birds drink from it” – Bukhari and Muslim

The best form of sadaqah (charity) is giving someone water to drink” - Ahmad

In consequence to the above, we have decided to try and raise money to build wells/water pumps, as this is a good form of charity that will InshaAllah (if Allah wills) benefit Haris in the hereafter as Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity).

Water is a source of life and one of the most precious of commodities which we can often take for granted; over 800,000 people die every year from water related illnesses.

We hope this page will enable all of Haris’ friends, family and people who have heard of his good character an opportunity to contribute towards the worthy cause of provided clean, safe water to drink in Haris’ name, and build as many wells as we can with the money raised.

I ask you to please donate whatever you can, however little.

Please gift aid where possible.

JakazAllah Khair (May Allah reward you [with] goodness).

Islamic Help's water projects usually last at least 10 years on average and can provide water daily for an entire village. This includes providing safe drinking water, cooking, washing clothing, feeding livestock, growing crops and hygiene to prevent the spread of diseases and help reduce deaths.

One of the biggest challenges that face areas suffering from poverty, famine or drought is the lack of access to clean water for drinking and sanitation purposes. Water is fundamental to life yet even today millions of people, particularly those living in third world countries, have little to no access to it.

Islamic Help has always been mindful of water sanitation, providing residents of affected areas with clean drinking water. One of the ways to provide residents with access to this water is by digging wells and installing water plants. We undertake such projects whenever there is a serious need. Recently, our projects have been concentrated in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Tanzania.
