The Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar (Burma), regarded by the United Nations as one of the world’s most persecuted communities, has once again come under attack. Thousands have been killed and tens of thousands more are seeking refuge in neighbouring countries. Men, women and children are all in desperate need of your support.

The Rohingya population in Myanmar was estimated at between 1.1 million and 1.3 million, the majority of them in Rakhine state near the border with Bangladesh, but half that number are now refugees. Across the country, 500,000 Rohingya are internally displaced - many in camps from which they are not allowed to leave. The Rohingya in Myanmar are stateless, denied citizenship and have no rights or access to basic services.

How are we helping?

In the past we have been able to provide relief aid inside Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). However due to current restrictions on aid agencies by the Myanmar government, we are unable to deliver emergency aid to the Rohingya inside Myanmar. The aid that we are currently providing will be to those who have managed to leave Myanmar and are seeking refuge in neighbouring countries.

When we are able to deliver inside Myanmar, we will try our best to do so. The money that you are donating will be used to provide what is required, this could be food, water, shelter, medicine, hygiene packs etc.

As part of our emergency aid to Rohingya refugees we will provide:

For £30: Family Food Pack (to last a family for 2 weeks or more)
Consists of Chana dhaal (5kg); Dhaal (4.5kg); Beans (5kg); Potatoes (5kg); Spices (1kg); Biscuits (2kg); Sugar (1kg); Salt (1kg); Cooking oil (3kg); Water (5ltrs); Cooking pots (2).
