Islamic Help continue their numerous projects in the humanitarian crises hit region of Darfur. Projects include food distribution, medical programmes, education and shelters.
Darfur in Western Sudan, Nyala is the capital city of this state. Here Islamic Help are catering for over 700 families each family consisting of around 7/8 members (approx 5000 people) by providing them with education, medical, shelter and food.
Ramadan Food Distribution
In Ramadan, Islamic Help provided food packages for the needy and poor in Sudan, mainly for Suhr and Iftar. The food packs provided, consisted of: sugar, rice, bean, oil, flour, corn and dates.
Islamic Help provided Eid packs which contained both food and clothes. The packs were similar to the Ramadan food pack but saw corn, bean and rice replaced by sweets, clothes and shoes. In total 1800kg of sugar, 900 litres of oil, 1000kg of flour, 2000kg of dates and 130 boxes of sweets was distributed amongst a total of 900 families. Also 500 items of clothes and shoes were distributed within the local Islamic Help run school which accommodates for 400 students.
Medical Camp
Islamic Help is providing medical services to the people of the Nyala camp over 2 years. The medical facility has been split into two different camps, 3 days a week in each area with one day reserved for expectant mothers. The medical camp provides the people of Nyala with a medical surgery, a medicine dispensary and laboratory for blood testing

Pharmacist
The camp has supported many expectant mothers and has been a key resource in the delivery of many babies. The facility ensures that women who have given birth receive all the support necessary and aftercare from a qualified midwife.
