The Mosque like so many other places of worship is much more than just that it is a sanctuary, a haven, a place of solace and a community hub facilitating communal gatherings and  celebrations.  It acts too as a place of shelter for the wayfarer or traveller, often offers meals for the less well off and is often the point form which alms are distributed to the needy.  They are too places where learning takes place and is passed on.

For all the above reasons and because it is a way of bequeathing a great legacy to a whole community Islamic Help is committed to rebuilding mosques or building mosques where natural or manmade disasters have conspired to reduce the numbers of  mosques.

Islamic Help has built and is committed to building mosques in the troubled region of Darfur.  The mosques we have already built in the region serve a fundamental function in bringing together those that live in the refugee camp of Niyala.

If you would like to contribute to the building of a mosque then

Following the Pakistan Floods 2010 Islamic Help committed, at the behest of many of those affected by the catastrophe, to restore or rebuild fifty mosques affected by the flooding. We have been able to rebuild thirty mosques already and know that with your support we will soon honour our commitment.  Donate now to restore a vital community resource to those affected by the most devastating floods that Pakistan has seen in over a century.
